Ingredients
Marinade
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp powdered ginger
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
Spare Ribs
- 2 lbs pork spare ribs, cut in 2-inch pieces
- 1/2 c water
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
To make the marinade:
- Combine salt, ginger, sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce in a small bowl.
To make the spare ribs:
- Pour the marinade over the spare ribs in a shallow dish or bowl.
- Marinate overnight (or at least 4 hours).
- Place rack in the center of the oven. Preheat oven to 350℉.
- Drain off the marinade into a small saucepan and bake spare ribs on a rack in an uncovered baking dish for one hour.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in a small amount of water.
- Add the cornstarch mixture to the marinade in the saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, and let boil for around 5 minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
- When the spare ribs are done cooking, remove them from the oven and place on a serving dish. Pour the marinade over the top and serve immediately.
